Before I begin, know that this is so very important! this is the first thing Google looks at for SEO and the title is the first thing that your viewers look at. They are going to either look or pass that article by…and all within a few seconds. Just what should be in your title? You want it all! This is important for SEO purposes and getting your business opportunity website to the top of the search engines.

You want that name recognition because what many people do not understand, most people sign up or buy into a home based business because of YOU! It has nothing to do with the business. I Can’t find my bleeping website on Google!! … ARRrr-gh!

Most people just give up, I think, when they can’t find their website when they search on Google.

One real estate person had a wonderful and very useful website complete with lead capture forms and auto responders. Much better than most business websites. But he had given up his occupation because there was no potential buyers or sellers. Amazing! in THIS economy!

But … The source code on his site showed no evidence of any meaningful keywords.

So often I find that building a website does NOT mean that it will be found after it is submitted to Google.

Why?

No key words in the source code… and sometimes, if there are good key words they are not positioned at the head of the string where the spiders want to see them.

One of the craziest things I have seen is where the “webmaster” simply used the first paragraph of the body text of the site in the key word content placing commas after each word.

Talk about insanity! Especially if the first three words of the paragraph are, “Welcome to my website!”

Of course, if you are one of the Veretekkies out there all of this is very obvious to you.

If you continue to believe the press release people and the blogging people who tell you that “labels” and “tags” and “comments” are optional you are making a big mistake. They are obligatory!

SEO is not that hard but it does take some clear thinking and a little time to find good key words.
